Eucharistic Virtue will have daily quotes about the Eucharist and about Virtue. The goal is to have two quotes each day. Most of the quotes are taken from writings of the Saints and Magisterial documents.
The goal of the quotes is to provide an easy way to reflect on the Eucharist and living our love for the Eucharist through the practice and development of virtue. The Catholic Church has a rich legacy of writings over the last two thousand years. These works reveal the great love that the saints have for the Eucharist and their insights into living virtuously.
The quotes were gathered over the last five years in personal reading. As I read, I would underline passages that resonated with me. I gathered all those quotes and now want to share them.
Spending just a few minutes each day contemplating the Eucharist can help us grow in love for the Blessed Sacrament and help us appreciate the Mass and Eucharistic Adoration more. I hope these quotes will lead to richer encounters with the Eucharist for you. Some of the texts quoted are great to bring to Adoration. In particular St. John Vianney’s Eucharistic Meditations is amazing to read and contemplate before the Blessed Sacrament.
Once we encounter the Eucharist, we cannot continue living as we were. The gift of Jesus’ body, blood, soul, and divinity in this Most Blessed Sacrament requires a response from us. We need to strive to conform ourselves to the will of God. Part of this is the development of virtue. The virtue quotes provide insights into the virtues and provide practical tips for growing in virtue.
It is my hope to start publishing the quotes within the next week, and then to continue posting them daily.
In additional to reading and contemplating the quotes, I want to ask you to do two things. First, consider posting a comment with your thoughts on the quote. This can be helpful to other readers, and I’m interested in your thoughts on the quotes. Second, please share the quotes with others. The Eucharist is such a tremendous gift that God wants everyone to share in it. Hopefully, the quotes on this site will help lead people to Jesus in His Sacrament of Love.
